What this site is

An informational comparison of local service providers, built from public records (state registries, BBB, published reviews) checked on the dates shown next to each fact. It is journalism-shaped consumer information, not professional advice — not legal, financial, engineering, or construction advice.

What we promise

That every fact carries its source and check-date, that verified errors get corrected in place within 48 hours of documentation, and that no listing, ranking, or pick can be bought. Sponsored placements, when they exist, are labeled where they appear.

What we can't promise

That a registry hasn't changed since our check-date (registrations expire and renew constantly — that's why we print dates and give you the tool to re-check live). That a company with a clean record will do good work on your job. That review scores reported by third-party platforms are accurate — we report them with sources, we don't audit them. Hiring decisions and their outcomes are yours.

Endorsements

"Who we'd hire" is editorial opinion built on the checkable record, honestly held and explained. It is not a guarantee of workmanship, and no listed company has paid for or approved its inclusion.

Disputes and corrections

Businesses and readers alike: email corrections@hunterdonscoop.com with the document that shows a fact is wrong, and the page changes within 48 hours of verification. That is also the complete dispute process, and it works.
